15-DAY ECO-CULTURAL TOUR OF THE PERSIAN GULF ISLANDS OF IRAN
OUTLINE & HIGHLIGHTS
15 Days

October to April
The Persian Gulf is well known for having one of the world’s wealthiest oil reserves that supply one-third of the planet’s oil. Still, aside from its modern-day geopolitical importance, the region’s history tells a tale of an ancient culture that governed the beautiful coastlines, beaches, and islands of the Persian Plateau, where through the passage of thousands of years, the ancient Persians created a fascinating civilization with magnificent cities and harbors.
The Iranian Islands of the Persian Gulf:
In 550 BC, the Achaemenid Empire established the first ancient empire in Persis (Pars, or modern Fars), in the southwestern region of the Iranian plateau. Consequently, in the Greek sources, the body of water that bordered this province came to be known as the “Persian Gulf.
Considering the historical background of the Persian Gulf, Sir Arnold Wilson mentions in a book published in 1928 that “no water channel has been so significant as the Persian Gulf to the geologists, archaeologists, geographers, merchants, politicians, excursionists, and scholars whether in the past or in the present. This water channel separates the Iran Plateau from the Arabia Plate and has enjoyed an Iranian Identity since at least 2200 years ago.”
As the fifth largest gulf in the world, with coastlines along Bahrain, Iran, Iraq, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, and the United Arab Emirates, the Persian Gulf is home to many islands where nearly thirty of them belong to Iran in which the most popular are the seven islands of Kish, Qeshm, Hormuz, Hengan, Lavan, Laral and Ninoo Islands which are the hidden gems welcoming globetrotters and coastal tourist from around the globe.
The Persian Islands are most famous for their turquoise waters, crimson-hued beaches, scenic landscapes, magnificent sea life, diverse natural and cultural attractions, soulful Southern Iranian cuisine, and the upbeat Southern African music of Iran called “Bandari Music,” influenced by its vibrant coastal Afro-Iranian culture.
Some of the many aquatic activities on the islands include parasailing, scuba diving, wakeboarding, jet skiing, snorkeling, windsurfing, parasailing, sailing, and fly boarding.
This fifteen Day tour will take you on a once-in-a-lifetime eco-cultural island adventure through one of the most eccentric locations on the globe.
Due to the weather conditions of the region, the best time to travel to these islands is in autumn and winter, when you can enjoy a mild climate experience with an average of 24 degrees Celsius.
